Summary

As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability and performance of our systems. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will leverage your core skills in system administration and systems engineering, along with your expertise in RHEL and VMWare, to design and implement robust solutions. Your advanced knowledge in scripting and system architecture will be essential in automating processes and enhancing system efficiency. Description/Comment:

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters

Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Special Requirements

Experienced Senior Linux Administrator with expertise in VMWare. Responsible for administration, support and optimization of Red Hat Linux based systems in virtualized and non-virtualized environments. Candidate should have strong trouble shooting and scripting skills.

Manage and maintain VMware HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers and environments.
Implement and manage virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere and HPE SimpliVity.
Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Automate system administration tasks using scripting and automation tools.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.
