You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Experienced Core Design Engineer in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the PWR Core Design & Safety Analysis Department in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:

• Developing economic core designs to optimize fuel usage and within defined safety parameters
• Support R&D using the latest codes and methods for nuclear applications
• Lead reload licensing team activities and first-of-a-kind licensing activities to advance fuel management techniques
• Support development of optimization tools and automation to streamline the analyses
• Prepare and review design reports, safety analyses, calculation files, and associated records. This position requires occasional travel. What You've Accomplished You have completed a BS in Nuclear Engineering, or a related degree (e.g. physics with nuclear concentration). You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 5 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.   • You have demonstrated experience in pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) core design and/or nuclear analysis experience.
  • You have mastered computer model development and application (e.g.,ANC, SCALE, CASMO, SIMULATE, or other nuclear industry analysis code).
  • You have worked on engineering workstation computers and within LINUX operating environments. You have some computer programming/software capabilities and experience in FORTRAN, C/C++, or PYTHON.
  • You display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships.
  • You have developed effective written and oral communication skills. Your Total Rewards Package The range of base salary for the position is between $95,000 - $129,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits.
