*** Contract position for 12+ months; contract can be extended; contract to hire is possible.

*** The job is on-site. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate within commuting distance of 6000 Technology Blvd , Sandston, VA 23150


Data Center Cabling ( optical / copper / power ) Infrastructure Engineer :

- Design, implement, and maintain data center facilities infrastructure with focus on fiber optic and copper/power cabling
- Perform break-fix operations and design work for structured fiber trunk cables
- Work directly with vendors/suppliers including QTS (Quality Technology Services), Digital Realty, and Data Bank to coordinate power and cabling requirements
- Define and procure copper and fiber components for data center infrastructure
- Collaborate with internal network and deployment teams on connectivity requirements
- Execute and oversee full cabinet deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve first-level network connectivity issues

Required Qualifications (Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications) :

- Knowledge of optical fiber technology and implementation methods ( fiber vendor : Corning )
- Experience with data center facilities infrastructure design and maintenance
- Experience with hardware rack-and-stack procedures and best practices
- Proficiency in provisioning and installing power and network cables according to industry standards
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve first-level network connectivity issues
- Technical understanding of structured cabling systems including fiber optic and copper components
- Experience coordinating with vendors and suppliers for infrastructure components
- Preferred: Working knowledge of project management and ticketing systems such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow
